Terms and Conditions

For participation in Weston Hospicecare's Weston Mercury Mendip Challenge 2011.

  1. All walkers must complete an official Weston Hospicecare Weston Mercury Mendip Challenge registration. Closing date for registration is Thursday 26th May 2011. The registration fee is non refundable (£6.00 per adult/£3.00 per child). Photocopied entries will be accepted.
  2. Once registered you will be sent an allocated numbered badge, Please do not swap your number and please ensure that you wear your badge on the day. This helps our checkpoint marshals to chart your progress and provide additional safety. The cut off time for participants on all routes shall be 8pm where walkers shall be guided off the course and invited to the after party to enjoy the birthday walk celebrations.
  3. Anyone less than 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult who is also registered for the event and agrees to walk with the participant at all times. The adult must sign the registration form on their behalf and take full responsibility for their participation and safety.
  4. On the day, if you are unable to complete the walk it is imperative that you inform a marshal at a checkpoint or phone 07833 706606 / 01934 423900. You will be presumed missing and contingencies shall be put in place to locate you.
  5. We ask that you return all your sponsorship money by 31st July 2011.
  6. A thorough risk assessment is completed for Weston Hospicecare Weston Mercury Mendip Challenge and qualified first aiders will be in attendance. However, if you do suffer an injury during this event, Weston Hospicecare, the Weston Mercury nor any of the associated sponsors cannot be held responsible. All participants will be participating at their own risk and are asked to take care when walking and ensure they are equipped with suitable provisions, footwear and clothing. Signing the declaration and registration form will be deemed as acceptance of these conditions.
