Weston Hospicecare is an independent adult hospice that provides hospice care to people in and around Weston-super-Mare. You will get a warm welcome from our team, who will be with you at every step of your journey, helping to make sure that you can live as well as you can for as long as you can.
The hospice consists of a Day Hospice, a ten-bed In-Patient Unit, the Wellbeing Centre, a team of Hospice Community Nurse Specialists, and our Family Support Team, which includes support groups, companions and our chaplaincy and bereavement teams. These services work in harmony to ensure you’ll receive excellent specialist care, be that at home or in the hospice, and we work to ensure that you and your loved ones are cared for and reassured throughout your illness.
Our doctors, nurses, physiotherapist, occupational therapist, complementary therapists, chaplain and counsellor will all work together to provide you with excellent professional care, all supported by our wonderful team of dedicated and experienced volunteers. The team also works in conjunction with GPs, consultants and other medical professionals to ensure you are well looked after.
Everyone we meet and care for has very individual needs. By talking with you and your family to find out how we can best support you, we’ll be able to develop a plan that lays out which services you may need access to — be that at the hospice or wherever home is for you. This plan will be specially developed to meet the your emotional, social, psychological and spiritual needs and will adhere to our Dignity in Care standards.
While our clinical team is excellent at caring for emotional needs, we also have a specially trained Family Support Team that can offer free social, emotional and spiritual assistance for both you and your loved ones.
This support for your family members and loved ones – no matter how young or old – can come both throughout your illness and after your death (See our Counselling section).
We know that you and your loved ones may need more or less help at any given time, and we respect and understand this — we are committed to always being there for you, whenever you need us.
