Pharmaceutical company Smith and Nephew have chosen Weston Hospicecare as their annual charity to support.
The company urge employees to donate a day of the working year to undertake jobs for charitable organisations.
Claire Fisher, Inpatient Unit Manager, says “I was approached by Smith and Nephew. I asked if they would help redecorate our quiet room on the unit. It is frequently used by patients, families and clinicians.
“Wickes agreed for the hospice to be their charity of the month and donated all the decorating equipment and paint.
“The team of extremely enthusiastic and willing volunteers arrived and it was decided that the gentlemen would decorate the quiet room while the ladies would create a tranquil area outside the clinical staff room in the garden.
“On behalf of the IPU and everyone at Weston Hospicecare, thank you so much to everyone at Smith and Nephew.”
The hospice are extremely grateful to any organisation willing to volunteer their time across the organisation. To learn more email maria.beaton@westonhospicecare.org.uk.
