We know, you’re knee-deep in Quality Street and watching movies that you’ve seen six times already, but while you’re doing that, why not give a thought to the impending new year, and pushing yourself to try something new?
Many people like to take on a new challenge, and try something they’ve never done before. Why not tie that into fundraising for Weston Hospicecare? Our challenge events are always very popular, and with such a wide range on offer, there’s sure to be something you fancy.
If you’re a keen runner, or even if you’re brand new to the sport, head over to our Run Weston Hospicecare page for some inspiration. You could also pick a race near to you, and raise sponsorship. Our fundraisers and press team will be only too happy to help you with posters, leaflets, or social media.
Not a runner? Why not walk, and take in the scenery! Trek Weston Hospicecare has a wide range of walking challenges, both in the UK and abroad! You could take on the three peaks, or even the Great Wall of China!
If you prefer to be on two wheels rather than two feet, Cycle Weston Hospicecare is the page for you. Our Ride London places always prove extremely popular, so if you think you might be interested, you’ll need to sign up soon! Cycling from Land’s End to John O’Groats is one of our more extreme challenges, but the sense of euphoria upon completion is immense, and the support from family and friends throughout your challenge will prove invaluable.
Finally, for the very brave (or stupid), Extreme Weston Hospicecare can give a range of inspiration, including Skydiving, Caving, and Abseiling. Registration for our brand new caving event, taking place on February 24th, is now open, but there’s limited spaces, so be quick!
Whatever challenge you choose to take on, you can be sure that our Events Fundraiser, Kelsey, will be on hand to give you all the help you need with registration, sponsorship, and publicity. Taking on a challenge to raise money for Weston Hospicecare means we can continue to provide support and care to those in our community dealing with life-limiting illnesses, as well as their loved ones.
Weston Hospicecare receives only 20% of its funding from the NHS; the rest is raised from our amazing local community who shop in our shops, take part in events, or tackle challenges. So, before you fall asleep in front of The Sound of Music, check out all we have to offer, and email Kelsey for more details.
