Weston Hospicecare is pleased to announce its partnership with Howards Motor Group for this year’s Mendip Challenge. Howards’ involvement will add an extra layer of excitement to this long-standing fundraising event.
The Mendip Challenge, which sees hundreds of participants taking on 10, 20 or 30 miles of the West Mendip Way, is set to take place on Sunday, 4th June. Now in its 28th year, this classic event aims to help raise around £50,000 for the hospice this year.
‘It’s wonderful to have a fundraising event that we can pretty much trace back to our founding,’ said event fundraiser Kelsey Dehaney. ‘It’s thanks to the support of our local community that we’ve been able to keep this event going for so long. That’s why we’re really grateful to Howards Motor Group for sponsoring this year’s Mendip Challenge, as their generous support means we can put on a great event and encourage people to raise sponsorship, ensuring we have the much-needed funds to support our care.’
Having worked with the hospice before to support various events and fundraising efforts, including the Midnight Beach Walk, Neon 5 and the Colour Run, Peter Coleman of Howards Motor Group said they were pleased to sign up as the main event sponsor for the Mendip Challenge this year.
‘Howards are delighted to be the main event sponsors for this wonderful fundraising event. The hospice performs such excellent work for our local community, and fundraising is absolutely essential to keep this going. We wish everyone good luck including our very own Howards team for their respective walks, and hope lots of much-needed sponsorship is achieved as a result.’ Peter Coleman, Chairman of Howards Motor Group.
In addition to sponsoring the event, Howards have also put together a team of more than 20 participants and will be bringing a Lotus car to the Mendip Challenge after party.
Registration for the Mendip Challenge will close at 5 p.m. on the 28th May, so interested parties are advised to visit www.westonhospicecare.org.uk/mendip or call 01934 423 960 before then to register.
