Members of staff from Lloyds Bank have taken time from their work schedule to tidy Weston Hospicecare’s garden as part of the company’s volunteering programme.
Employees of the bank are encouraged to use one working day to support charities or causes in their local community.
Team leader Rachel Andrews works with the Insurance & Wealth department in the region and volunteers for the hospice in her spare time.
She said: “Lloyds Banking Group has a volunteering programme, where colleagues are invited to use at least one working day, or eight hours, a year helping support their local community.
“I am a volunteer at the hospice which is why we initially started to volunteer here as a group and we have been coming back every year since.
“It is really important to us that we help support our communities and all colleagues of Lloyds are encouraged to support local projects.
“The gardens at the hospice are a beautiful area for patients and their families to enjoy. Visitors have often said to us that they love walking around the gardens and sitting on the benches in the sunshine.
“The hospice is very important to the local community giving vital care to patients in Weston and the surrounding area. Just talking to anyone who has had dealings with the hospice, you realise what a special place it is.
“We enjoy coming back to the hospice each year as it gives us the opportunity to help in our community and to get together as a team outside the office environment.”
