A local couple have found good fortune with a jackpot win in Weston Hospicecare’s Lottery Super Draw. Ed Fisher and his wife, Marilyn, of Mark, won £2000 in the quarterly Super Draw, a fantastic surprise for Mr Fisher and his family.
Weston Hospicecare’s Lottery costs as little as £1 a week to play, and entrants could be in with a chance of winning the weekly first prize of £500. There’s also a second prize of £50, and five £10 winners every week, plus the quarterly £2000 draw.
Of his win, Mr Fisher said: “It came as a very nice surprise. I’ve supported Weston Hospicecare through playing the Lottery and shopping in their Burnham on Sea shops, so to get a phone call to say I was a winner was wonderful. I do intend to give the winnings to my wife, and I’ll continue to support Weston Hospicecare.”
The Lottery brings in the equivalent of 50 days of clinical care to Weston Hospicecare, enabling us to continue providing care to patients with life-limiting illnesses, and their loved ones. That care can come in the form of support in patients own homes, activities run in the Day Hospice, or providing round-the-clock care in our In-Patient Unit.
With only 22% of our funding coming from the NHS, Weston Hospicecare relies on the generosity of the community to raise the remaining amount through fundraising, shopping in our network of shops, or playing the Lottery, like Mr Fisher.
