Members of the Moorhens WI, which is based at Locking Castle Church Hall, organised a ‘Big Drop’ donation drive for Weston Hospicecare following a request for more donations for its shops.
‘The Moorhens WI wanted to do something for our chosen charity, Weston Hospicecare,’ said Marta Dance, Group Secretary. ‘It’s a fantastic cause, and it’s great to have a clear out and donate our unwanted items, which will help the hospice raise much-needed funds.’
Weston Hospicecare has 16 shops that sell various donated goods in order to raise funds for the social, psychological, emotional, spiritual and physical support that the hospice provides.
‘We are so grateful to everyone who donates such wonderful goods for us to sell in our retail shops,’ said community fundraiser Rachel Mansfield. ‘We’re very lucky to have so many supportive people in our community!’
If you are interested in donating any of your pre-loved clothes or goods to the hospice, please drop them off at any Weston Hospicecare shop during opening hours. If you or your organisation would like to hold your own ‘Big Drop’ donation event for the hospice, please contact the fundraising team on 01934 423921.
