Representatives of seven solicitors firms who raised more than £18,000 for Weston Hospicecare have seen their efforts celebrated through the award of certificates.
Eleven different branches from the seven Somerset legal firms participated in Make Your Will Week in February.
The scheme sees solicitors waive their usual fees for drawing up wills in exchange for clients making a donation to Weston Hospicecare.
This year, a record 108 people took advantage of the opportunity, drawing up 160 wills in total with help from experts at the seven firms.
This delivered a total cash boost to the hospice – including gift aid – of £18,548.
The hospice’s trusts, legacies and lottery fundraiser, Anita Wiegel-Lloyd, said: “We are so grateful to the solicitors for giving up their valuable time to support Weston Hospicecare.
“Make Your Will Week will return in February 2019, and we hope to see even more people taking advantage of the opportunity it offers.”
Weston Hospicecare’s Make Your Will Week was supported by: Berry, Redmond, Gordon and Penney in Winscombe; John Hodge Solicitors in Weston’s Boulevard and Aisecome Way, and Clevedon; Bennetts in Wrington; Bartlett, Gooding and Weelen in Cheddar; Powells Law in Weston; Holley and Steer in Burnham; and Wards Solicitors in Weston, Worle and Clevedon.
