SUEZ recycling and recovery UK has donated £400 to Weston Hospicecare as part of its “Giving Something Back at Christmas” fund. SUEZ staff across the country were invited to nominate charities supporting those in need in their local communities and working to improve the environment.
Weston Hospicecare was nominated to receive a donation to support their ongoing palliative care to the people of Weston, North Somerset and Sedgemoor with a life-limiting illness.
The £400 donation will support the operational costs of the hospice which provides free expert and compassionate palliative care to people living with a life-limiting illness both at home and in the hospice. The hospice is presently looking after over 300 patients. The team also support their families both before, during and after death.
Mark Flower, Fundraising and Communications Director, said “We have suffered a difficult year, with income hit by shop closures and cancelled events. We are incredibly grateful to SUEZ for the donation, which will help us provide our service to the people of North Somerset and Sedgemoor”.
SUEZ recycling and recovery UK say “SUEZ is delighted to be able to make these donations and give something back to the local community. We know now more than ever just how vital local charities are, and we are pleased to be able to offer some support in this difficult time.”
The newly introduced annual fund to support local good causes makes up part of SUEZ’s wider corporate giving.
