On Saturday, 29th April, from 2-6 p.m., the Weston Hospicecare Kewstoke and Worlebury Friends Group will be hosting its Summer Seasons Fashion Show at the Commodore Hotel in Sand Bay.
‘We’ve hosted several fashion shows before, and we really enjoy surprising people, who might not expect to see such high quality fashion pieces, all of which have come from Weston Hospicecare charity shops,’ said Sue Daniel, who is part of the Kewstoke and Worlebury Friends Group. ‘This luxurious afternoon of fashion, shopping and afternoon tea will help us raise much-needed funds for Weston Hospicecare.’
Weston Hospicecare is the local charity providing specialist palliative care to local people affected by life-limiting illnesses. To provide this care and support to hundreds of local people, the hospice relies on support from the community (including the various Friends Groups) and sales from donations made to its shops to help raise more than £2.7 million each year.
‘We’re so grateful to those who donate such wonderful items to our shops and everyone who helps to make these events a success,’ said Sue Harding, community fundraiser. ‘Without that support and the wonderful efforts from those in our Friends Groups, we wouldn’t be able to have events such as this, which help fund the care we provide. If your wardrobe could do with a revamp, or if you’re just interested in coming along for a fun-filled Saturday afternoon, we hope you’ll join us and enjoy the chance to comb the rails to nab that perfect ensemble!’
The Commodore Hotel, which is set in tranquil Sand Bay near the beach, has generously donated the space its premises free of charge.
Tickets to the event, which cost just £10 each and include the afternoon tea, are available from Sue, who can be reached on 07760 377 200, or from Chris Smith, who can be reached on 07751 375109.
