Four ladies have completed the Three Peaks challenge to raise for Weston Hospicecare.
Charlotte, Sarah, Jules and Grace came up with the “crazy idea” to complete the fundraiser. They did it in memory of Pete Telford who was cared for by the hospice in 2017.
The quartet have raised more than £2,400. With gift aid their total is closer to £3,000.
They completed the challenge on the weekend of 13 & 14 July. The team persisted through some challenging hot weather on their way.
Charlotte says “It was very tough going. We’re thrilled to have raised so much and will be pushing for even more and doing anything else we can do to help.”
On the team’s JustGiving page they say “The four of us had the crazy idea that it would be fun to tackle climbing Ben Nevis, Scaffell Pike and Snowdon in 24 hours.
“We chose Weston Hospicecare as our charity of choice. This was due to their amazing care and support of Pete Telford, Sarah’s dad.
“He sadly passed away on 1 December 2017 and he loved all things fitness. We thought this challenge would do him proud.”
Weston Hospicecare rely on the kindness and generosity of it’s supporters and volunteers to help fund 80% of annual operating costs to continue providing support and care to people in North Somerset with a life-limiting illness.
Everyone at Weston Hospicecare thanks Charlotte, Sarah, Jules, Grace and everyone who supported them for raising such an amazing amount of money to support the hospice’s work.
