Weston Hospicecare offers a diverse range of volunteering opportunities, and we’re currently looking for a Volunteer Mystery Shopper.
The Mystery Shopper programme is designed to provide impartial information about the customer experience in Weston Hospicecare shops. This helps us to identify good practice and replicate it within more of our shops, and to identify training needs and improvements.
The role of the Mystery Shopper is to visit Weston Hospicecare shops as a customer or donor and to provide feedback of your experiences to the Retail Director. The role takes just 3 hours every month; Mystery Shoppers are asked visit two selected Weston Hospicecare shops during that time. The shops you visit, and the days of the week on which you visit them, will vary from month to month.
You will work to a set list of review criteria, which may include, for example: whether you receive a warm greeting, are you asked about gift aid when donating items, is the shop clean, and is the shop well stocked? After the shop visit, you will be asked to complete the simple A4 mystery shopping form and return it to the Retail Director. You will also be required to attend training to support your work as a Volunteer Mystery Shopper.
This is a great opportunity to provide an invaluable contribution to our retail team, and we’re looking for someone who is friendly, with good communication skills. You’ll need to be flexible, and have your own transport. This is also a highly confidential role; you must not identify yourself to the staff and volunteers in our shops.
We’d love it if you had some experience of working in a retail environment, or of mystery shopping, but it’s not essential as full training will be given.
This is a perfect volunteering opportunity for those looking to get out and about in the local community, or for those looking to gain experience in the retail sector in order to enter employment.
If you’d like to volunteer for us but don’t feel as though this role is the right fit, take a look at our list of volunteering opportunities on our website- we’d love to have you on board!
