A host of rewarding career opportunities with a Weston-super-Mare charity will be showcased during a recruitment open day next week.
Weston Hospicecare currently has a number of vacancies across its services, ranging from nursing roles to retail jobs to catering work.
And the hospice is inviting people who are interested in learning more about the available openings to attend its first ever recruitment day on July 5.
The event will run throughout the day and into the evening, and give people an opportunity to find out more about the hospice and the roles on offer.
Attendees will also be invited to join a tour of the hospice, and speak to relevant managers about the roles and about working life within the organisation.
HR manager Sonja Hammond said: “Weston Hospicecare is a richly rewarding place to work, and we are excited to be able to showcase the latest vacancies available for people to join the team.
“Current roles include jobs in our fabulous nursing team, management vacancies within our 16 shops across the district, and within our expert catering team too.
“We hope people will take this opportunity to come and explore the opportunities available, and to learn about life in Weston Hospicecare – we will look forward to welcoming you.”
The recruitment day will run from 11am-7pm, and be broken into a number of different sessions, beginning at 11.30am, 1.30pm, 3.30pm and 6pm.
Attendees can drop in at any time, but these timed sessions will include scheduled talks and tours designed to offer visitors an insight into careers at the hospice.
Among those attending to speak to job-hunters will be Weston Hospicecare’s chief executive Paul Winspear and director of patient services John Bailey, plus other senior managers.
John said: “At Weston Hospicecare, we’re committed to bringing life to days. If you work for us, you’ll know that each moment you’re at work involves making a positive difference to those in your local community.
“With a team of dedicated professionals who work both in our hospice and out in our community, we strive to ensure that people can be treated and cared for – both physically and emotionally – in their place of choice, be that here at the hospice, in their own home or in a care home.
“We look after hundreds of patients and their loved ones each year, and no matter what role you have in the hospice – whether you’re raising funds or directly providing the care – you’ll be helping to ensure those we care for can live as well as they can, for as long as they can.
“I hope people take this opportunity to come and learn about the work we do, and explore how they can become part of the Weston Hospicecare team.”
The recruitment day will run from 11am-7pm on July 5 at Weston Hospicecare’s headquarters at Jackson-Barstow House, 28 Thornbury Road, Uphill, Weston-super-Mare, BS23 4YQ.
