We are thrilled to announce the launch of our brand new high street store, opening in Burnham on Sea on Friday 23rd August. Customers of the new store will have the opportunity to purchase a wide-variety of high-quality donated and new fashion goods.
This new store is situated on 38 High Street, next door to our former fashion store. The former fashion store will now become a furniture shop, perfect for customers seeking hidden gems, collectibles and more for their households. Customers are encouraged to visit the store on Friday 23rd August for its grand opening to take advantage of exclusive offers.
The new store launches ahead of our latest retail campaign, ‘Sustainable September’. Throughout the month of September, the charity is encouraging the local community to shop sustainably while looking good without costing the earth. The campaign will push eco-friendly styles and conscious fashion choices to the forefront, and throughout the month there will be a series of activities community members can get involved in as well as, of course, shopping!
We will be hosting three talk series events, offering individuals the opportunity to learn from experts, offering advice on sustainable fashion, upcycling, and ethical shopping.
- Make and mend – 11th September at Waterloo Street store, 19 Waterloo St, Weston-super-Mare BS23 1LF
- Pre-loved shopping – 12th September at the Milton store, 195 Milton Rd, Weston-super-Mare BS22 8EF
- How to shop sustainably – 13th September at Superstore store, 10 Searle Cres, Weston-super-Mare BS23 3YX
In addition to these talk events, we will also be hosting a ‘Makeover Competition’ in which customers can enter via Facebook to win a £25 voucher to be spent at a select Weston Hospicecare retail store. Entries for this competition are now open and must be submitted by Friday 23rd August.
Commenting on the launch of the new store, Weston Hospicecare Area Manager Cindy Tee said, “We are so excited to open our brand-new store, welcoming all to visit and to purchase some beautiful pre-loved goods. The new store joins our 15 stores across the region offering the community a chance to give back to a purpose for good whilst receiving something lovely to cherish.
“We encourage as many as possible to come to the launch of our new store on Friday 23rd August to avoid missing out on our fabulous offers.”
Commenting further on this, Director of Retail at Weston Hospicecare, Emma King, said, “Our retail stores are woven into our community, offering opportunities for volunteering, employment, recycling, and support in the local area. We cannot wait to see our customers, old and new, in our new space!
“In addition to this, we encourage you all to join us by shopping sustainably throughout September. We will have some exciting activities taking place throughout the month for all to enjoy.”
