This February, join hundreds of supporters for Weston Hospicecare’s Men’s March — a scenic 10-mile charity walk that makes a difference in our community.
Upon finishing, celebrate your achievement with a refreshing pint of Thatcher’s cider (or soft drink) and a delicious Parson’s Bakery pasty while enjoying the Six Nations rugby against the stunning backdrop of the Grand Pier.
Whether you walk solo or gather your dad, brother, son, or friends, you’ll be alongside fellow supporters, all united in raising vital funds for end-of-life care in our local community.
* Please note: Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult and will have a soft drink.
Did you know that Weston Hospicecare only receives 18% of its funding from the NHS? This means that the majority of our financial support comes from the generosity of individuals and local communities. Events like Men’s March are vital for raising the funds we need to continue providing compassionate end-of-life care. While your entry fee covers the cost of participating, it’s your sponsorship that truly supports patients at Weston Hospicecare.
If one participant raises just £100, that could fund four child bereavement support sessions. If each participant raises £100, together that could provide care from a Community Nurse Specialist for 43 patients. So lace up those walking boots, rally your friends, and step up for Weston Hospicecare.
Bonus: Fundraise £100 before the event, and receive a free Weston Hospicecare t-shirt as a token of our gratitude.
By joining Men’s March, you play a crucial role in sustaining our services. Every pound raised helps bridge the funding gap, ensuring that no one faces their final days alone. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in our community—thank you for your support!
Statistically, men are far less likely to explore their emotions and seek bereavement support or practical support they need, so we are very pleased to be welcoming our own Men In Sheds to the event giving participants the opportunity to chat to the ‘shedders’ and find out more about the group and how you can get involved. This year will also extend a very warm welcome to the local Talk Club who will also be there on the day, so please pop over to their table and hear more about the club, and maybe even walk and talk with them on the route.
