Men’s March

April 17 - April 18

When and what is it?

On Sunday 18 April, hundreds of men and children will embark on a 10 mile charity walk for Weston Hospicecare. It’ll start at Weston Cricket Club and will follow the stunning Weston coastline to Weston Woods and back.

For 2021 we will not be inviting our amazing participants to watch any rugby after their walk. Instead, our amazing participants will be given their own Men’s March goodie bag to take home.

So be sure to prepare those walking boots and step up for Weston Hospicecare by signing up to make a huge difference to people in your local area.

Discounted early bird entries are available on a first come, first serve basis until 31 January 2021.

What’s in it for you?

What’s included in the price:

  • Entry to the 10 mile walk
  • Back walkers, support vehicles, marshals and first aid cover
  • Free Pieminister Pie after your walk
  • Goodie bag with a snack and sweets
  • Bottle of Thatchers Gold*
  • Souvenir Men’s March pint glass
  • Your incredible support of Weston Hospicecare

* Please note: Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult and will have a soft drink.

How will I be kept safe?

Participants will be given a start time one week before the event, starting from 8:30am. Small groups will be set off at safe time intervals to avoid large gatherings of people.

Check in on the day will be contactless and we’ll be setting up appropriate measures to keep everyone safe raising money for their hospice.

What are you waiting for?

Spaces are limited so sign up today and join us on Sunday 18 April for a fun-filled day, raising much-needed funds for Weston Hospicecare – we look forward to seeing you all!

Can’t make it? Become a Men’s March Hero and donate to support our event.  We hope 2021 will bring a change from a year where we have faced unprecedented challenges, and you can be part of it!

    Reclaim Gift Aid

Gift Aid It!Add 25% more to your donation at no cost to you. A Gift Aid declaration allows Weston Hospicecare to claim tax back on eligible donations. It means that for every £1 you donate to Weston Hospicecare we can claim back 25p, at no extra cost to you.

By ticking the "Yes" box, I agree I would like Weston Hospicecare to reclaim the tax on all qualifying donations I have made, as well as any future donations, until I notify them otherwise. I understand that if I pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all my donations in that tax year I may be asked to pay any difference. I understand that Weston Hospicecare will reclaim 25p of tax on every £1 that I give.

    What is Gift Aid?

Gift Aid does not cost you a penny more, but can add an additional 25p to every £1 you donate. When Weston Hospicecare receives a donation from a UK taxpayer, we're entitled to claim an amount of tax (calculated at the basic rate of income tax in that year) paid on that donation. Once you have given your permission for us to do this on your behalf, there is no need for you to do anything else.

All that is required is that you must be a taxpayer and that would have paid or will pay sufficient Income and/or Capital Gains Tax to cover all the Gift Aid claimed on all your donations in that tax year. Please note that it is your responsibility to pay any difference.

The amount of tax we claim will be 25% of the total value of your donations in that tax year. Furthermore, if you are a higher taxpayer, you are also entitled to claim the difference between the basic rate which we will claim and the amount of tax you have actually paid. For further details on how you can do this, please contact your tax office. If your tax situation changes and your gifts will no longer be eligible for the Gift Aid scheme please contact us and we will amend your record accordingly.
