Leading Somerset cidermaker Thatchers is backing Weston Hospicecare’s Men’s March for a second year.
Their support includes a financial donation and a contribution of cider to give each participant once they have walked the 10-mile route in support of the hospice.
Hundreds of men are set to march the glorious route before uniting to watch the finale of the Six Nations on the big screen at Weston’s iconic Grand Pier on Saturday 14 March.
Managing Director Martin Thatcher said: “Weston Hospicecare captures the hearts and minds of the community, and we’re looking forward to being a part of this exciting and exceptionally worthwhile Men’s March for a second time.
“What could be better than enjoying a walk through the stunning Somerset countryside, watching the rugby with a pint of cider, whilst knowing you’re helping contribute much needed funds to the work of Weston Hospicecare.
“We wish everyone taking part an enjoyable time, and we look forward to seeing everyone there.”
Hospice Events Manager Grace says Thatchers’ support can only enhance the event for all involved.
She said: “We’re close to the hospice’s second Men’s March which promises to be a fantastic day for all.
“We’re delighted, and enormously thankful, to Thatcher’s Cider for their generosity in not only providing a financial contribution but for also providing the cider for our participants to enjoy upon their return.
“We’ve had more men sign up than last year already and there’s still time to register. What better way to spend a spring day than with some fresh air, delicious cider and a tasty pie, all whilst watching the climax of the Six Nations with your mates?
“Come and join us and be part of something amazing, where you will be helping to support the vital care given to those who need it the most.”
Taking part in the Men’s March costs £18.50 for adults, which includes entry to the walk and the pier, a pint of Thatchers Cider, a pie, and a souvenir event pint glass. Children’s places cost £12.50 and include entry to the walk and the pier, a soft drink and a pie. Walkers are encouraged to raise sponsorship on behalf of the hospice too.
The deadline to sign up is Sunday 8 March, six days prior to the event on the following Saturday. A limited number of places may be available on the day, but cannot be guaranteed.
