We help people affected by life-limiting illnesses live as well as they can for as long as they can.
Our vision is one in which every person living with a life-limiting illness within Weston-super-Mare and the surrounding areas has the best possible quality of life.
We also aim to ensure that their loved ones – whether they are carers, family members or friends – are provided with the support they need, too.
By attending to the physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs of people affected by life-limiting illnesses, we are able to enhance their quality of life, thereby enabling patients to die with dignity in the place of their choosing and supporting their loved ones both during and after their illness.
Our values can be summed up in one sentence: We aim to bring life to days.
Life is made up of moments. We understand that. It’s why some of our biggest accomplishments, the things we’re most proud of, are the smallest things. Whether we’re talking to a patient about their hero Muhammad Ali, bringing a bed-bound patient their favourite coffee house drink, helping to arrange a wedding or making sure our patients can be at big family events (whether that’s in person or digitally), we try to make sure these sorts of things are taken care of. It’s just who we are.
Whether we’re helping patients live as well as they can for as long as they can or supporting loved ones to ensure everyone can make the most of the time they have, we believe it’s an incredibly important task.
These guiding principles define the work and culture of the hospice.
