Weston Hospicecare’s Clevedon Hill Road Charity Shop Reopens After Refurbishment
Weston Hospicecare is pleased to announce the reopening of its Clevedon Hill Road charity shop, after being closed for more than a year due to a necessary refurbishment. Originally opened in November 2011, the shop had to close its doors in January 2024 following the discovery of a leaking roof. However, after a comprehensive and careful renovation, the store is now back and better than ever, ready to serve the local community once again.
The full refurbishment has included major upgrades such as a new roof, a restored original floor, and a beautifully restored vaulted ceiling. In line with the building’s listed status, the work has also involved the installation of a new roof light, a stunning new front window with a wooden surround, and the exposure of the remarkable Bath stone front. These improvements will help the store continue to offer a unique shopping experience while raising vital funds for Weston Hospicecare.
Emma King, Director of Retail explained: “We’re absolutely thrilled to be reopening our Hill Road store after more than a year! We know the local community has missed it, just as much as we have. The shop has been fully refurbished with great care, including a new roof, a restored original floor, a beautiful vaulted ceiling, a new roof light, and a new front window with a wooden surround, all in line with listed building guidelines. We’ve also exposed the stunning Bath stone front. A fantastic team has worked hard to bring the store back to its former glory, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back. Of course, this store plays a vital role in raising funds for the hospice, and we’re so pleased to have it open again.”
Weston Hospicecare would like to thank Honeyfield who were the main contractor and shop fitters as well as Robert May, the supplier of the beautiful shop fittings and AP Signs and Print who installed all signage.
Jackie and Rachel, who have been part of the team since the store’s initial opening, will be returning to manage the shop, welcoming back regular customers and attracting new ones to support the cause. The store is also actively looking for volunteers to help with the day-to-day operations and continue its mission to support Weston Hospicecare.
