Pines for Pounds Tree Collection 2025 registrations are now closed. We apologise if you have missed the deadline but we are now unable to add any further trees.
Pines for Pounds is back once again this year after four successful Christmas tree collections.
You donate and we collect! In return for a donation, we’ll collect your tree and take it away – saving you the mess in the car, and the queue at the tip. Our annual Christmas Tree collection and recycling service helps raise vital funds for Weston Hospicecare, with last year around 700 trees being collected and raising over £13,000.
This year’s tree collection service is a huge community collaboration involving Weston Rotary, Mendip Rotary, Wrington Vale Rotary, Weston-super-Mare Lions and Young Farmers, as well as additional support from Enterprise, Howards, Medequip, WSS, PD&CL and North Somerset Council.
Tree collections will take place on Saturday 11 January 2025, with collections covering a number of postcodes across North Somerset and Weston Hospicecare’s service area. Please see below for the full list of postcodes.
To book a tree collection, please also check all the FAQs below to make sure your tree can definitely be collected successfully on the day and complete the form further down on this page.

Why is my postcode not on the collection List?
All trees are collected by Volunteer supporters, meaning that we are limited by the number of trees that we can collect.
What do I need to do on the day?
All Christmas trees must be ready by 8am on the day of collection (Saturday 11 January) and must be visible from the main road (i.e. at the end of a driveway). Trees not visible will not be collected. Tree collectors are not permitted to enter private property.
How big can my tree be?
We ask that your tree is no larger than 7ft. Any trees larger than this will need to be cut prior to our volunteers arriving. Volunteers are not permitted to cut trees. Please note: any large trees will require additional vehicle space and we ask you to consider making an additional donation.
How many trees can I leave out?
We ask you to request no more than 3 trees per household, we suggest a donation of £12- £15 per tree.
What happens if I do not want to leave a donation?
We can collect your tree free of charge, but you will need to write to the following address to request your tree collection. We will then send you a form to complete, which must be returned by no later than 28 December 2024. Please know that a donation would mean the world to our patients.

What if my tree has been missed from the collection?
If your tree is not collected on Saturday 11 January it is likely our collectors could not locate your tree for one of several reasons. Please email nicola.slark@westonhospicecare.org.uk by 4pm on Tuesday 14 January. Missed trees will be collected on or before Friday 17 January. If we are unable to attend to collect your tree, a full refund will be offered.
What is the cut-off for booking a tree collection?
Bookings close at 9am on Thursday 9 January 2025.
How can I help the hospice by my tree being collected?
Your donation can make a difference for our patients and their families.
£20 could help fund an hour of our nurse’s time with a patient.
£40 could cover the cost of a patient’s food in our In-Patient Unit for 24 hours.
£100 could help cover the cost of a nurse delivering end-of-life care to a patient and their loved ones.
What happens to my tree once it has been collected?
Your tree will be taken to a local recycling centre where it will be shredded and either taken to Secret World or used for other conservation projects.
Thank you to Weston Rotary, Wrington Vale Rotary, Mendip Rotary, Young Farmers and Weston Lions for your Support this year.
