A team of staff members from the Regency Purchasing Group have pledged to raise £1,000 for Weston Hospicecare by taking part in the hospice’s brand-new Bubble Rush event, which takes place in Apex Park in Burnham on Sea on Saturday 5th August.
Debbie Beech, Urszula Klepacka, Sophie Holder, Sian Collins, Sharon D’Arcy and Steph Hurne have joined forces to form the Regency Runners especially for the 5K event, which starts in a sea of bubbles and features four Bubble Stations along the route where cannons pump out even more coloured bubbles.
‘We wanted to do something together as a team and really wanted to support a local charity. The Bubble Rush seems like a really fun way to spend time together and raise money for Weston Hospicecare at the same time,’ says Steph. ‘Cancer has touched many people’s lives, and Weston Hospicecare’s services are really vital in supporting both the patients and their families through their journey, so we are keen to raise as much as we can to help.’
With just two weeks left until online registrations close for the Bubble Rush, the hospice is encouraging even more individuals, groups, families and clubs to sign up for this brilliant new event.
‘We are delighted that the Regency Runners are supporting the Bubble Rush and are sure they will have lots of bubbly fun,’ said Kelsey Dehaney, event fundraiser at Weston Hospicecare. ‘The Bubble Rush is family friendly and anyone can run, jog, walk or toddle their way through the foam. The most important thing is that everyone enjoys their time in the bubbles whilst helping to raise funds to support our local hospice!’
Places are still available at the Bubble Rush and you can register to take part by logging on to westonhospicecare.org.uk/bubble/ or calling 01934 423960.
