Companionship, professional advice and care: The crux of Weston Hospicecare’s Day Services.
Our Day Service sessions are sociable and supportive. After your referral, you can access our Day Services in blocks of weekly sessions for twelve weeks at a time.
You will have the opportunity to access services such as therapeutic exercises, complementary therapies, specialist and spiritual support. You will also be able to access the care you need through access to our multi-disciplined clinical team.
When you come into Jackson-Barstow House, it’s your day! Take a break, enjoy yourself and have some time to make sure your needs are met. We offer refreshments throughout the day and a freshly prepared lunch.
We will discuss goals that are important to you to work on during your sessions and offer regular reviews. The team will make sure you are prepared for the week ahead, and they can help you access other community services, before the end of each session.
Your ongoing needs will also be assessed and discussed with you to ensure you have access to the relevant services. These services are designed for people with a life-limiting illness who are being cared for by a carer (family or care home) and/or are not experiencing severe and restricting symptoms caused by their condition.
If you feel that our Day Service will be a benefit to you or a loved one, you can be referred by your Hospice Community Nurse Specialist, your GP or any other healthcare professional. Simply discuss with your clinician or carer who may be able to support you by submitting a referral on your behalf.
Alternatively, to enquire on availability and suitability of these services for yourself or a loved one, simply submit the form below or call 01934 423900.
