Sponsored runs, fancy dress and a host of wacky antics have helped Weston College students raise an amazing £3,600 for Weston Hospicecare.
Hundreds of students across the college’s three campuses took part in a huge range of activities for RAG week, which also included henna tattoos and bake sales.
A dress-up day proved one of the week’s highlights, and saw the college become home to superheroes, unicorns, octopuses – and Domino’s pizzas.
Groups, departments and individuals saw their charitable efforts acknowledge through a range of awards saluting their innovation and dedication.
Weston Hospicecare community fundraiser Rachel Mansfield said: “We are once again enormously grateful to the students of Weston College for the fabulous support offered during their RAG week celebrations.
“We’ve loved following the students’ exploits, and we’re thrilled by the incredible amount of money raised for Weston Hospicecare – it really will play a big part in enabling us to support people with life-limiting illnesses and their families across Weston-Super-Mare and beyond.
“We’d also like to say a special thank you to the students from Weston College’s Inclusive Practice Programme, who won an award for an outstanding contribution to the RAG week for a video they created on behalf of Weston Hospicecare – we enjoyed welcoming the students to the hospice when they were filming, and were really impressed by the super piece of work they put together.”
