Community nurse Amanda Headford will take part in the Midnight Beach Walk this Friday with many of her peers to support a colleague who is being treated by Weston Hospicecare.
Alison Adams (pictured) is having treatment for pancreatic cancer that has spread to her lungs and she has worked alongside Amanda for four years as a community nurse.
Amanda will be joined by eight of her colleagues and says Alison is treasured by all.
She said: “Alison is a special lady who is cherished by all her colleagues. Alison asked us to sign up and it is a way of showing her how much she means to us all. This is something we can do for her in perhaps what we feel is an otherwise-hopeless situation.
“I shared Alison’s post on a closed Facebook group we have for rapid response staff and lots of people volunteered straight away so although many of us have had contact with Weston Hospicecare before, we all wanted to do the walk for Alison.
“Alison has been active on social media asking people to sign up and sharing our posts, especially the JustGiving page link.”
Time is running out for women to join Amanda by signing up for this year’s Weston Hospicecare Midnight Beach Walk this Friday, 7 September. To register, click here to visit our sign up page. Registration closes at 11.30pm today (Tuesday).
