Yesterday, Weston Hospicecare regretfully announced the postponement of their eagerly anticipated Summer Fayre, scheduled to take place at Hornets Rugby Club this Saturday, 22 July.
The decision was made in response to this weekend’s adverse weather forecast, which predicts heavy rain and strong winds in Weston-super-Mare.
With the support of Hornets RFC, Petmania, Reaper Events and Lidl the hospice is pleased to announce the Summer Fayre will take place on Saturday 29 July; just a week later than the original date.
Kirsty Simmons, Senior Community Fundraiser, says “This time 24 hours ago we were bitterly disappointed particularly after so much effort had gone into preparing a fantastic Summer Fayre to take place on Saturday.
“However, we are absolutely-thrilled to confirm we have rescheduled the event to Saturday 29 July.
“I honestly cannot thank everyone involved enough who rallied around us yesterday to enable a new date just one week later.
“This illustrates how lucky we are to have such an incredible community, so a huge thank you to Lidl, Hornets, Petmania and Reaper Events for your cooperation and support.
“We cannot wait to see you next weekend!”
The operational costs of Weston Hospicecare amount to £5.5 million annually, with only 20% of the funding provided by the local CCG (Clinical Commissioning Group).
The hospice extends its compassionate care to more than 1,600 individuals each year in the Weston-super-Mare and northern Somerset areas.
This invaluable care is made possible solely through the unwavering support and dedication of our incredible supporters and volunteers.
